>> Is
your Organisation Smiling?
Our belief is that “people who feel good about themselves perform
better”. At Represent Ltd, we work in organisations where people
smile and organisations where they don’t. Fit and healthy organisations
are those where people are aligned in their pursuit of great performance.
Great performance depends on a fusion between vision, values, beliefs,
behaviours and results.
Model
for creating a Smiling Organisation - Fit for the Future
1
• Communicating the Vision
Passionate commitment to a
vision and a belief in the need for change is essential within any
dynamic company. As leaders of change, we need to communicate the
vision of the organisation in terms that people can understand and
share.
2
• Create the Climate
We need to have a set of business values that underpin the vision
and create the motivational climate for the vision to become a reality.
This climate is created by developing internal communications, establishing
strong values and role modelling those values in practice.
3
• Coaching Capability
If people are going to behave in different ways, they need the skills
to do so. The identification of development needs and meeting those
needs in appropriate ways, is paramount to success.
4
• Reward Behaviours
It is a simple fact that people who feel good about themselves perform
better. Once people have developed the skills required, they need
to celebrate their newfound competence. Reward systems at both individual
and team level need to be aligned with the desired culture and appropriate
to the individuals concerned.
5
• Review Performance and Results
Change is an ongoing journey. We need to regularly review performance
and ensure that change keeps on track. Measuring the achievements
of individuals and the organisation as a whole is vital to long
term business success.
The challenge
of HR directors and managers is to work at these five levels in
order to create the motivational climate for people to reach their
full potential and take responsibility for delivering world class
performance.
